Viber, one of the major messaging companies in the world, has decided to join the trend as it has recently introduced a new hidden chat feature to help protect your privacy.

According to a report from TechCrunch, Viber has just announced that it will be introducing a way to hide chats on your account. The messaging company made the announcement on its website’s blog. According to the Viber blog post, “we’re proud to launch Hidden Chats today. This allows our users to hide specific chats from the main screen so no-one but the user knows they exist.”

The blog post mention that it is a norm these days that people share gadgets with their friends and family and the hidden chat feature is just a way to help protect the person’s privacy. According to PCMag, the feature is going to roll out in the next few weeks. Using it is very easy as it will allow users the ability to hide any chat by simply swiping left on the particular conversation. The user can then key in a PIN code that will prevent anyone else from accessing the chat.

With the hidden chat feature, users can now maintain privacy while still being able to share devices with their friends or family. The update will come to all users with Viber 6.0 installed on their devices so if you have not updated your Viber app yet then it is about time that you do.
