The filming of Fox’s revival of popular drama series Prison Break has begun and the latest to join the crew of Michael Scofield and family is child actor Christian Michael Cooper.

Christian Michael Cooper is a child actor  who will be playing the role of Scofield and Dr Sara Tancredi’s son Michael Jr. According to IMDB the actor is known for In Hiding (2015), Life on the Line (2015) and Cult (2013) movies.

Michael Jr. now lives with mother and his stepfather Scott Ness (Mark Feuerstein) whom Sara married after Scofield’s apparent death in the conclusion of the series. Michael Jr. was last seen in the drama series with his mother, Mahone, Sucre and his uncle, Lincoln, at his father Michael Scofield’s grave. Before coming to the grave, while Sara is buying flowers for Michael, Michael Jr. is first seen to have a temporary tattoo on his arm. Michael Jr. puts some flowers on the grave and Lincoln puts an origami crane.

Scofield had apparently sacrificed himself in order to save Sara and his child in Prison Break season 4 when he rescues his prison-doctor-turned-love-interest from Miami-Dade Penitentiary Women’s Facility. Later, Mahone gave a DVD which showed Michael telling Lincoln and Sara his reasons for his sacrifice. In that video, he also asks Lincoln and Sara to make sure his child feels loved and never feels alone.

Michael Jr. has a significant role to play in the upcoming series and has been described as  very cool and much more perceptive than might suggest his age, just like his engineer-turned-convict father. Michael who is lovingly called Mike by everybody will seemingly have memories of his father and will unite Sara and Scofield who are now separate due to Scott being in Sara’s life.

In addition to Cooper, Pakistani-American actor Faran Tahir best known for his role as Raza, the leader of the terrorist organization “The Ten Rings” in Marvel’s Iron Man, announced he is joining the series to play the role of Jamil on new season.

Faran took to Twitter on last week to break the news about his casting: “I will be playing the recurring role of Jamil on Prison Break: Sequel (Mini TV Series) Season 5 which is expected to air from September 2016.”

Faran could possibly be playing a fellow prisoner being held alongside Michael in Yemen but whether he would assist Michael is something we’ll have to wait to see when the series debuts. The new series will see the return of Michael who supposedly had faked his death to save his family but somehow ended up in Yemen and after clues emerge that he may be alive, Sara and Lincoln with their old crew go on one last mission to rescue him

Prison Break Season 5 debuts on Fox TV sometime in September 2016.
