Indian OEM YU has just unveiled its first phablet running Android, the YUREKA Note. Despite the name, it’s got nothing to do with Samsung’s popular lineup of phablets.

The YUREKA Note is a mid-range smartphone with some high-end features and is now available for purchase in India for around Rs 13,500 ($200) outright, a new report confirms.

As mentioned earlier, this is YU’s first phablet, so you shouldn’t be surprised to find out that YUREKA Note rocks a huge 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

According to YU, the YUREKA Note is meant to provide users with the “ultimate multimedia and gaming experience,” but let’s see if it's got what it takes.

Aside from the huge display, YUREKA Note packs a massive 4,000 mAh battery, which should provide many hours of continuous usage. We won’t know for sure until YU confirms the information, though.

In order to make the multimedia experience more immersive, YU has added dual speakers with NXP smart PA audio chips capabilities. Also, the smartphone offers both 4G LTE and hybrid dual-SIM support, along with other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB, 3.5mm audio jack, and GPS with AGPS.

On the inside, the phablet packs a powerful 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753T processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit. The smartphone comes with 16GB of storage, but users can expand internal memory up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, YUREKA Note features a 13-megapixel photo snapper with phase-detection autofocus, dual-LED flash, and video recording, whereas on the front there’s a secondary 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2.

There’s also a fingerprint sensor on the battery cover, right below the main camera. Design-wise, it features a polycarbonate body and metal frame. It looks strikingly similar to other YU handsets like Yuphoria and Yutopia.

The only downside of the YUREKA Note would be the fact that it ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, and YU hasn’t yet confirmed any Marshmallow upgrade for the mid-range phablet.
