Musical legend Prince Rogers Nelson has passed from this world. A timeless artist and entertainer, Prince was known by many names. The Kid. The Purple One. Jamie Starr, Alexander Nevermind, and the notorious Artist Formerly Known As Prince. He was also known by his Love Symbol - a name without a name. His death occurred approximately 57 years after his birth, both having occurred in his home state of Minnesota. Until his dying day he played music, and his epic archives will continue to satisfy the masses for all time.

Confirmation of Prince's death comes from his publicist, who shared: "It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57" this afternoon.

Prince spoke in a language the whole world could understand. He surpassed all limitations, temporal, creative, and generational.

As a Minnesota native, I will personally forever regret having never seen the master live, in his home environment, on stage and with a guitar strapped to his side. I'll have instead the memories of the many concerts I did attend at First Ave, where his spirit has always and will always reside, like a violet-toned aura.
