HTC 10, unveiled last April 13, will be going up against the Nexus 6P, which was released late last year, on September 29, in today’s head-to-head of Android smartphones.

Display

The Nexus 6P has a 5.7-inch display with AMOLED technology. It takes the early lead against HTC 10, which has a 5.2-inch screen and LCD display. The HTC 10, though has a slightly better resolution with 1440 x 2560 pixels or 565 ppi. The Nexus 6P also has the same pixels resolution but with less pixels per inch due to the larger screen. Both smartphones feature light and proximity sensors and scratch-resistant glass. The Nexus 6P’s display has oleophobic coating too.

Performance

Both phones have the Android 6.0 OS, or the Marshmallow. The HTC 10 is slightly ahead with its Snapdragon 820 chipset compared to the Nexus 6P’s 810. HTC’s bet can clock up to 2.2 GHz with 4 cores. Nexus, on the other hand, has double the cores but can only reach 2 GHz. The 6P is making up for less speed with longer battery life. It’s 3450 mAh battery is better on paper against HTC 10’s 3000 mAh battery. But HTC 10 retakes the lead with better GPU and RAM. It’s equipped with the Adreno 530 and 4GB of RAM while the Nexus 6P has the Adreno 430 and 3GB RAM.

Meanwhile, for the camera, the HTC 10 has a ton of features ranging from image stabilization to geo tagging. For videos, it also has time-lapse, hyperlapse, and picture-taking during video recording. In contrast, the Nexus 6P only offers the usual face detection, autofocus and video calling. However, the 6P comes out ahead with a 12.3 MP back camera and 8 MP  front camera, compared with the 12 and 5 MP arsenal of the HTC 10.

Finals

The two Android phones offer 32 and 64 GB variants. The Nexus 6P however has a 128 GB model. But the HTC 10 can be equipped with a microSD to expand memory. Initially tagged with a $699 price, the HTC 10 taps out to the cheaper, but slightly lagging in specs, Nexus 6P. Available for $450 on Amazon, the Nexus phone makes up for the slight advantages of the HTC 10 in the huge price gap. Do you agree? Leave us comments below.
